Ultimate Pack

eGuide

George Rumsey

Once I opened these guides up, I found them totally addictive to read. To have such detailed advice from an experienced, industry professional is honestly priceless. Such as the film industry is, advice like this is hard to come by and is never freely available, until now. ‘How to be a cameraman’ provided me with detailed information of the different routes a budding cameraman can take to become an established industry pro, whilst also giving great motivational advice which helped me go out with drive and passion to secure the job I so desperately wanted.

Not only that but the extra supporting material provided by the complete pack of guides helped me get an edge over the huge amounts competition in the industry. ‘Beat The Competition’ gave me the tips to go out and face other talented cameramen and to do so with real confidence. ‘Lighting For Film & TV’ and ‘Shooting On Location’ supplied me great tips and tricks, which helped me focus on what I still needed to learn; as well as helping me know what NOT to do – just as important! Overall a great resource for any potential cameraman or even anyone still looking for direction within a massively competitive industry. These guides gave me great confidence in my ability as well as the direction to go out and find myself a great job. Which I did immediately after reading the guides. Great stuff from a fantastic professional, well worth my investment! Thanks Harvey.

This book taught me loads of useful information! The official terms of what things are called were very well explained, which is something my college doesn’t teach! I loved the top tips boxes, which were extremely useful and very well written (as was the whole book!) It’s really given me an insight into what kind of job it is in a lot of detail, which is great to know exactly what the job consists of. I honestly didn’t think how the hell a pair of tights and a 10p piece would help in your daily job, but it seems you found that such simple things do help! This book has made me really think about my future now and what I could do, and with no definite way into becoming a camera operator it leaves me quite a lot of choices. The links at the end of the book are extremely useful for me as well, with the film schools, some which i’ve searched before, and others that I will look into. Your books come out at a PERFECT time for me, as I must make a decision on what to do after college, at this moment of time, I am looking towards film schools or a Camera assistant Trainee.

I really enjoyed reading this book, and I have 3 more to read which makes it even more exciting. Really brilliant stuff!
